Born December1947. Full Name: William Noel Harty.
Education: Carrig National School; Christian Brothers School, Nenagh; Garda College; Waterford Institute of Technology.
Joined An Garda Siochana (The Irish Police Force) on the 17th. May 1967. After an initial period of Training was posted to Waterford City Station, in September 1967. Transferred to Kilmacow Station (South Kilkenny) in June 1968. Transferred to Ferrybank Station, Waterford City, in April 1970, Ballyhale Station, Co. Kilkenny in June 1972. Back to Waterford City in June 1975. Promoted Sergeant in June 1980 and transferred to Carrigans, Co. Donegal (just outside Derry City) as Sergeant in charge. Returned to Waterford City in January 1982. Appointed Sergeant in Charge, Divisional Traffic Corps in 1986 and retired in1997.
Registered as a full time student at Waterford Institute of Technology in 1998 on a National Certificate in Computing (In Information Technology Support) Course. Graduated with Distinction in June 2000.
Employed with the Louisiana Pacific Timber Company (Now SmartPly) at their plant at Bellview, Waterford from July 2000 to February 2001 as an IT Technician. Employed at Waterford Institute of Technology in the Computer Services Dept. as an IT Technician from March 2001 to March 2010, when I took early retirement for the second and final time.
Married June 1974 to Marie Sheridan (Now Separated)
